Been meaning to put up a new Blog on Fossils for a couple of months. Some of these are from my own property. Heres some pics, sorry I dont have better close up pics. The items have been found in the Heathcote, Ferrymead, Opawa area. Can you see if you can help with these mysteries please? Sorry but having issues positioning the pics. These are just a few, will get some more up next time.
This first one I found hanging between a crack that opened up due to the quakes. It was just a big white rock, and unfortunately I was silly and wasnt careful enough when I rinsed it in water, and the top part of the eye broke away. Im still preparing it, taken a lot of time already, but love doing it.NB: I have now filled in the hole in my yard where I found thids blob of Sandstone. I often think, if I hadnt been so conscious of changes around me I wouldnt have found this, and spraying the property every few days, and weeds dying away I would not have found the crack. That was when I noticed the white.Oops garden was a bit of a mess, still is, but I tidied this part :)

These are my other prize finds, Maori Artefacts, from the 12th or 14th Century, but possibly even earlier. I could never leave them where they were in the sludge & silt. These will be returned to their Guardians next week:

| Pounamu Toki/Adze - The two at the top right |
 |
| Pounamu Toki/Adze - Father & son possession? Was a symbol of power and a great honour to own one of these. Luck, or maybe not, was with me the day I found these a few feet from each other, spewed up by the liquefaction and quakes |
This is the first time these have been seen by modern man for hundreds of years, awesome!
